Synopsis
The Executive Chef’s main focus is to maintain strict quality standards of all dishes.  This is accomplished through on-the-job training and supervision.

  • Staff training and retention

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support all Element Fresh general managers in every possible way
  • Meet at least once a week(every Friday) with senior operational management team to set weekly priorities and goals for the coming week and discuss the current weeks issues/events.
  • Attend weekly in-store management meetings and be prepared to update Senior Management Team as needed. 
  • Create the agenda and attend the weekly inter-restaurant chef meeting
  • Ensure all kitchen operations are running smoothly and upholding the standards of the company.
  • Monitor food quality, preparation methods, recipe adherence (consistency) to guarantee the highest level of customer satisfaction
  • Always represent Element Fresh in the proper manner when dealing with customers and the community at-large.
  • Coordinate with the Food Safety and Hygiene Officer to ensure all food safety & hygiene rules and procedures are followed
  • Have complete knowledge of all menu items, their garnish, contents and preparation methods. 
  • Be ready to answer any staff, management, and/or customer question.
  • Monitor training programs and work closely with the company training manager to foster a culture of continuous training and development for all kitchen staff
  • Foster open communication with and among all levels of employees.
    Identify opportunities for quality/service improvements, cost savings, other operational enhancements.
  • Assist the store-level management monitor food cost, labor cost, waste/spoilage, and other operational expenses to help ensure the financial success of the restaurants.
  • As a member of the overall element fresh management team, support company initiatives beyond the call of daily duty.

 

Skill Requirements:
a.Technical skills

  • Minimum five years of kitchen experience, at least three years of which in a management position.
  • Organization skills, including prioritizing of workload and task delegation.
  • Intense understanding of all food safety & hygiene standards
  • Inventory management for perishable products.
  • Understanding of customer satisfaction drivers.
  • Team leadership: track record in managing team performance; employee assessment with appropriate action taken.

b.Personal skills 

  • Strong command of Mandarin Chinese and English
  • Outgoing personality and strong teaching skills
  • Passion for quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Honesty and integrity.

 

Note: Element Fresh is open for business seven days a week and a minimum of 16 hours per day.  All employees must realize this fact and be aware that at all times it may be necessary to be flexible relative to schedules as business demands.  In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitality service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
